Busy week... Birthday week

Hey guys!!

So we only had 2 investigators at church.  They were 2 twin boys that are 13.  They come from a rough household.  They basically live with members that are in our ward.  They are on date for Christmas Eve which is cool.  Hopefully it will work out.

This week seemed to be really long and rough.  I was sick for 2 days which sucked.  I am feeling better now.  We just looked back on our numbers and we actually had a really good week. We have like 6 really awesome investigators. We also have one other lady who is on date for January 7th. She has a 20 year old daughter who is a convert who married a member in our ward.  She wants the same joy that her daughter has from joining the church.  She has had a rough life. 

This next week is looking really good.  We are booked like all week and have so many lessons.  We are going to have to go on splits with ward members to be able to make it to all of them which is good.

I'm so jealous Dylan got to go to the NFR!!

So our packages go to the mission office and then the zone leaders will pick them up today and take them to district meeting which is tomorrow. I did get Madi's. It was so good!!

Today (December 5) is Elder Duncan's birthday and he is 20.

Good things are happening...

Dear Family,

So I'm still in the same area with Elder Duncan and we are super glad because we have lots of good things happening here in O-town!!!  We dropped 1 of our investigators with a baptismal date because he only wanted to be baptized so he could hold the priesthood and have "POWER."  He wanted to be able to go through the temple.  That is not how it works. He also prays to the dead and receives answers from the devil by throwing coins.  However they land is what his answer is. That is what he believes in and he does not want to change. So ya. We are done with him.

However, Sunday we might have 6!!!! investigators at church!
A 14 year old boy and his 10 year old sister.  They have never been baptized. 
A college age girl.
2 older single ladies.
A guy that lives in a crack house and hires prostitutes.
Most of them are super promising!! Some just have things they are going to have to work out first.  But good things are happening.

Thanksgiving we played football with my ward from 7-8 am.  Then we went up to a stake center and played volleyball and other sports with half of the mission from 9-12.  Then from 1-4 we had 3 different dinners.  That was a ton of flippin'  food.  My companion and I have 2 full turkeys in our freezer to cook. ha ha ha Then later from 6:00  on we went and proselyted for the rest of the night. So we had a good day!!

Missionary Work Blesses Missionaries & Their Families...

Holy all I can say is....

I am so excited for Karissa!!! California, San Jose. That is awesome.  She will love it there.  

Madi called it cause she said she bets she goes to Cali!!

Anyways it has been a good week!!

Elder Gay of the Seventy came and talked to our mission this week.  It was really good. Listening to General Authorities speak just makes me so excited to be a missionary.  It still doesn't seem real. He talked a lot about how missionary work blesses the missionary and their families.

We also had a mission devotional last night which was cool.  It was all the converts in the past year could bare their testimonies.  We had a investigator there and it was good for him.

The weather is great.  It really doesn't rain that much and its not to cold either. We eat way good.  We have dinner at a members home every night.  We always make a way good breakfast and lunch.
I have put on 10 lbs hahahaha

Transfers are next week so I won't have P-day until Tuesday.

I don't even know what I ate for breakfast...

I wait and wait for Elder Stucki's emails. 

I check my email every 10-15 minutes.

I know you should not compare children, BUT really... Madison would write 5-8 page letters weekly on her mission.  Ethan does not say much and he would always tell me not to expect "Madison" letters.  After 1000 questions and begging he shared a bit more...


Yes. I got the 2 boxes thank you.

We have 3 really good investigators we found this past week.  2 of which have baptismal dates in December.

Yes. I love all of you.  It is just hard to write stories.  I'm not good at that.  Maybe if we get tablets because I will be able to write them througout the week.  We might be getting tablets soon so I will be able to write about my day every night and send long emails on Monday

Haha. My brain is fried right now. I can't even remember anything about my week.  I don't even know what I ate for breakfast.

Everyone has guns...

My week was good. I don't really have a ton to write about and don't really know what all to say but we have a couple new investigators and one of them was at church with us on Sunday.  It was Fast Sunday so I was able to bare my testimony. It was the first time I have done that in a long time so that was good.
Healthy wise... I'm good. But I do have a Dr appointment I have to go to. I'm not excited. 

Jared will be awesome.  That will be cool to come back with him in the Bishopric.

There are some cool places here. It's super pretty here.

How is Dylan?

I have to go buy a bike and helmet after this so there is going to be a dent in the credit card bill. 
Karissa's birthday is the 20th Don't forget. Get her something nice for me.

I  bought a rope.  haha. We were bored last Monday so we went to a tractor supply store and I bought a play rope.  So I can do rope tricks. hahah. My companion has no clue how to rope.

We have a car and a bike. The bike will be more for summer because we won't have a car then.  But we will bike some once I get a bike.  

One thing I need to learn is how to control myself.  Because the past few years I just have never really been scared to talk back to people.  So when people are complete jerks sometimes I just want to talk back, but I can't. It can be difficult.

We get guns pulled on us quite often.  Elder Duncan always wants to leave.  The other day this guy had 2 big guns on him and he was going out shooting.  He was such a jerk and Elder Duncan was trying to leave but guns don't bother me.  The guy even said he's like "You've got balls walking up to someone with 2 loaded rifles" I wanted to say,   "what are you gonna do shoot me, because I'm a missionary"  But instead I  just talked to him about guns.  I wasn't scared because I  love guns.  Then I talked to him about church and he was fine.  It was funny because Elder Duncan was so scared hahahahahaha.

Everyone in this town has guns.  There has been like 10 experiences like that but not all of them were so happy at the end hahah

Yes. They answer the door with guns. They don't point them at our heads. We are up in cabins most of our area.

Weekly update...

Family,

I love you guys and I love Karissa so I'm glad you all love her and get to see her 
because I don't :(

But I'm only going to be emailing for a little bit right now because our schedule is different today since it is Halloween they don't want us out tracting tonight.  So we did this morning and then our P-day is the rest of the day. We are going to Enumclaw which is about 25 minutes away to play basketball and volley ball for the rest of the night with all the missionaries.

The mission is going good.  We have a couple of potential investigators right now.  Hopefully we can get somewhere with them. Other then that we are doing a lot of work for the ward. There are about 76 less active families that we have been going around trying to contact. The ward is kinda in a rough shape.  They just got a new Bishop 2 weeks before I got here so we are just trying to find out who is even still in the ward.  So that is basically what we have been doing.

We had about 4 less active families at our Halloween Party Friday.

I need stamps and if at all possible music!!!  We listen to a lot of music. NOT just mo-tab but like good music. Oh also another long sleeve would be nice.

We are usually really good at getting dinners made for us every night which is really Nice!!!

They have a Pizza Hut and a Safeway. Food is expensive!! 

We are eating good. You will see in my next pictures I am sending home.  We have so many drinks, like hundreds of Gatorades that we get for free for doing service at the Food Bank. I have put on 8 lbs already.

My companion is a cook and he makes me food he is so loving.  Yes, I do the dishes.
