This Week was an Awesome Week!

This week was an awesome week!!
I'm just going to jump to the best part which was Saturday!

Saturday was Tawny's baptism!! I don't really know how to put it in words but it was the best baptism I have ever been to!! Little back story behind Tawny. She is 18. She would have been baptized months ago when she first started taking the lessons but her parents wouldn't let her. It was about the time I got here to this area we had a lesson with her and she told us that her parents are now okay with her being baptized!! I guess her Dad was the one that really didn't want her to be baptized but one day he pulled his wife aside and they got talking and just felt it would be Best to let her be baptized! She will be going off to college soon and they want her to have good morals and standards and what not.

So anyways Saturday we had the baptism!! There were so many people there we could hardly fit in the Relief Society Room. Her parents came to it too. Lots of the people were also non members. That was the first time we got to meet with them and they were so cool. They were the nicest people! We went ahead and started the program and the Spirit was so strong!! Her mom was crying the whole time and you could tell her dad was choked up. Right after the baptism her Dad could hardly speak! The Spirit there was amazing! We are really hoping that from this her parents start to investigate. Her Dad is also friends with the Stake President and after he was asking him questions about the church! It was so good that after we had a couple of people come and tell us that out of all the baptisms they have ever been to, even on their missions this one was the best and the most spiritual! It was nothing to do with what we did the Spirit was just so strong. It was amazing!

I also got to go on exchanges this week with Elder Perkins from St George, Utah!! He is the Zone Leader. We got talking about missions and just how cool it is that we have this time to be on missions and how much trust the Lord puts in us! It is really crazy actually how much the Lord trusts us. For example... what got us on this topic was I was able to do my first baptismal interview this week. That was really cool... but crazy!

I'M 19 AND I'M INTERVIEWING PEOPLE FOR BAPTISM!!!

The lady I interviewed is like 60 and when I walked in she kinda started to laugh... she said, I was expecting someone who was like 75 with a long white beard or something.
...but that's not what she got. ha ha ha

Anyways this week was pretty good. I hope all y'all are doing good.
I love you all!!
I like the tie a lot. Actually I like floral ties! Also yes I know the Gamblin's they are way cool! They own the Chevy dealership. Elder Pugh and I went and hung out there for a little bit last P-day.
The fires in Utah look bad!!
I gotta go though.

Have a good week.
I love you all!

May 1, 2017
I am doing good. It has still been super slow here. But there are some good things happening. There is a less active family that Elder White and I went to a little over a month ago and they were super nice. We tried to set up a lesson with them but they said it would be best to just call them and they gave us their phone number. We called a few times and they would never answer or call us back. So we just let them be. Well 2 weeks ago they just showed up at church and said that they are coming back. I really think they mean it. They were at church this past week also. We just found out that their 15 yr old son has not been baptized. So we will most likely start teaching him soon.

This past Sunday was a really good one. Elder Medley and I both talked in sacrament on the importance of missionary work. Brother Landon also spoke (and he is so awesome) He told some cool stories. He and his wife are awesome member missionaries and he shared some cool experiences that they have had. They have helped many people. He is also a great speaker. Our Ward Mission Leader spoke about the ward mission plan and also told some good stories. The spirit was super strong! So hopefully the ward will start to want to share the gospel more with others.
That is about all for the week.
I love you all!

Sounds like it was a good week and a good baptism for Eli also!! Everyone was a part of the program too, so that is cool. This week was pretty good. I have been a little sick again most of the week. My companion had it first and then I got it. Just congested and stuff. It was another slow week but we are starting to see things pick up on the member work side of things. Some members are finding friends that are interested in the gospel. We will most likely start teaching them soon. We had Zone Conference and that was good. They are so long though it is hard to sit there. I go crazy. It was the day I was the sickest so that was no fun. I had a fun exchange Friday and Saturday with Elder Payne. I like him a lot. We saw 3 black bears. They ran across the road right in front of us. It was cool. Of course I wanted to shoot them. We both thought they were wolves at first the way they came running out of the bushes as we got closer and they started running we saw they were bears. It rains so much here. You can't get anything done when your trying to work. 2 weeks ago we were walking down the street and a drive by shooting happened in front of us. But it's okay they were not trying to kill anyone they were just shooting the house of someone who stole something from them. We found that out from some members.
I love you all!!

That all sounds like fun. I have been sick again. I spent all last night throwing up. I don't know what it is but I have been sick a lot lately.  It is miserable.

This week was also a pretty good week. We found one new investigator that was actually a potential that we gave a Book of Mormon to about 2 months ago but we could never catch her at home to follow up with her until this last week. We also had a miracle happen when we were out tracting and we got a text from a member in Kent and he told us how he is a salesman and he goes around knocking doors and selling products and he was down selling things in Tehaleh which is in our area. He came across this lady and some how the topic of faith came up and he bore his testimony to her and she told him how much she loves Mormons and how she would love to come to church and she would love to have the missionaries come and teach her and her family! So that was pretty awesome we are excited for that. That was about it.

May 30
The weather has been hot here lately. Only around 80 degrees but it is super humid so it feels so much hotter. There really hasn't been to much happening lately. Yesterday for Memorial Day our ward had a picnic at Mud Mountain Dam. It is a big park up in the hills and we were able to go to it.  It was fun. There was a BBQ and a lot of games played. It was also good because we got to bond with a lot of the members and the youth and there were less active families and non member families there. So it was a good time. I felt like I was at a big family gathering. Except I was in church clothes:)  But it was still fun. Other then that not much is going on.
I think I told you all how G. found out she has a tumor... well she is doing OK. She is starting to get a lot more energy back but her husband fell at work and he ended up in the hospital and has brain damage. She just found out this week that he isn't going to make a full recovery or really any recovery at all. So they set a date to let him go and I'm pretty sure it was yesterday. She has had a tough time lately. Because of this she is wanting to take the lessons again and come to church more!
That was about it for my week. You all sound like you are doing good. Mom you seem like you are keeping busy with real estate which is good!
I love and miss you all!

June 2017

June 5, 2017
This week was pretty good. G. is doing okay. Her husband did pass away on Thursday so it is gonna be tough for her for a while. She is tough and still wants to have lessons.

I don't know if I told you or not but a couple weeks ago there was a member who lives in Kent, Washington who is a salesman who was down selling things in Taholah. He said he felt like he should bare his testimony to this lady. So he did. When he was finished she told him how much she loves Mormons and wants to learn more about them. This past week we were able to meet her and she wants to come out to church and to have the lessons with her family!! I think she has 3 kids, maybe more! So that is cool. Hopefully we can start teaching her this week!

I think I am good on things. I don't need anything. Tell Ty Happy Birthday for me. He has past me up in weight now...
I love you all!

June 12, 2017
So this past week was good.  We met with S. and talked with her at her door. We are planning on teaching her this week. We had another miracle happen... our Bishop got a call from a Bishop in Missouri and said that the missionaries there were teaching a family that is super close to baptism. They are moving into our area. Which is cool. So hopefully we can start teaching them when they arrive in 3 weeks. We also found a new investigator named J. when we were out tracting. He let us in on the spot and we taught him the restoration. So things are starting to pick up for this area which is nice!

...No the talk did not stress me out. It was good. We talked about the importance of reading the Book of Mormon daily. The Mertlich's  daughter knocked on my door. I guess they were looking at the apartments we live in because they wanted to rent one. Her husband saw that we were missionaries so he came and knocked on our door wanting to look inside. They wanted to see how big they were. He asked me where I was from, I told him St. George. He said that is where my wife's family lives. I asked him who they were and he said Mertlich. I was like, Hey they are in my ward. Pretty cool.
I love you all!

June 19, 2017
That is an awesome story. I am so thankful for prayer also because it has helped me out here a lot too. So to answer basically all of your questions about our investigators. It's a NO. We did not get to teach any of them. It was a busy week. We had Zone Conference and we went to Renton for a Dr appointment for Elder Medley. I was also sick... again. So there was not much that happened this week on the teaching side of things. We did drop an investigator this week. Things started to pick back up but now we are already dropping people we just found. Gotta love it. Transfers will be next week. I will email on Tuesday. Maybe there will be a good change... we will see.
I love you all!!

June 26, 2017
So this week....
This week was pretty good. I did end up getting transferred. I knew I would. But I was not expecting to be "in zone" transferred again. I am going to be serving in the Enumclaw 2nd and 3rd Wards. Double covering. I think I have the whole Enumclaw Zone memorized well enough that I will probably start driving with my eyes closed. I am going to know the whole entire Enumclaw Stake so that will be pretty cool. I am super excited. I will be with Elder Pugh he is a super cool missionary. I also got called to be a District Leader... I don't know how that  happened. I have not been out to long. I told the Assistants when they called that they had the wrong Elder Stucki... because there are 2 of us. They said that they didn't. So it will be interesting to see how it goes.
That is about it for this week. Hope y'all are doing good.
I love you all.

April 2017

April 17, 2017
So I think that we are going to be dropping G. because she is not progressing. We are pretty sure that she has just been using us to do yard work for her. We have done a lot of yard work for her and now that it is done she doesn't talk to us anymore. We feel like she is just telling us what we want to hear so we will do her yard work.  Which is dumb because we would have done it for her even if she did not want to take lessons. It was a rough week and I have been a little sick. We clean out this house that was so nasty. We ripped out the carpets and shoveled buckets of dirt and just crap out from under it. It is probably from breathing all the dust in.  Other then that this week was slow.
I love you all.

April 24, 2017

We did not end up dropping G.  We talked to a member who has been fellowshipping her she had text G. yesterday to see how she is doing. She has been in the hospital and has blockage of the intestines and a cancerous tumor in her liver. So that explains why she has been so sick. It is good she is not just ignoring us but also sad to hear that. The member is awesome and is going to go visit her today and take some men to give her a Priesthood blessing.  Hopefully everything gets well with her soon.

Things have been super slow here though. There has not been any new investigators found and just not a lot happening. We have been doing a lot of member work with less actives. We are also trying to get members more involved in missionary work. We are giving talks this Sunday on the importance of member missionary work. So that will be fun.  It will be my first talk I have given on my mission so far.
I love you all!
