August 2017

This week was busy!!! ...but more with meetings then anything. Tuesday I got a new companion. Elder Brock Heal from Orem, Utah.  We had 24 new missionaries arrive this transfer and tons that went home too. It was crazy.  President Rasmussen said 1 in every 5 missionaries in our mission has been out less then 1 day!! So we have a super young mission. We have another 24 new missionaries coming out next transfer too and tons going home. So I'm like an old missionary now and that is weird. I feel like I just got here!!

Wednesday morning was Elder Heal's first day here and we went to a lesson with M. M. was a potential investigator Elder Drake and I found on exchanges 2 weeks ago. The lesson went awesome and now M. is a new investigator! We taught him the restoration and he liked it! So it was pretty cool to find a new investigator on Elder Heal's first day. (he was excited)

Thursday we had new missionary orientation that we had to go to and President Rasmussen said that there would be a special visitor that would come in later but he didn't say who it was. Which was weird because you never have special visitors for that. It was Linda K. Burton and her husband!!! In case you don't know who that is she just got released from being the General Relief Society President!!! They are good friends with the Rasmussen's and they were up visiting them because it was both the Burton's and the Rasmussen's anniversary that week. President invited them to come and talk to us for a little bit! It was awesome!

That was about it for this week!
The house is looking good! It will be exciting to move in. When is it supposed to be done?
Good to here that the most of you are doing good. I love you all!!

This week was a pretty good week! We got a new investigator L. She was found through members and we committed her to baptism for September 9th. She is super solid and has a ton of friends and fellowship in the ward. We also went and did service for an elderly less active gal who has someone living with her who is not a member who just helps take care of the house. We shared a little message with her and after wards the guy that lives there started asking questions and we taught him the restoration on the spot. He is now a new investigator!

The temple today was amazing. It always is! Things are going good. Sorry the email is short. There are just a thousand things I gotta do on this computer and don't have a lot of time today... sounds like y'all are doing good. I love you all!

OK. I have something for you to do!!!

Hey fam!

This week went pretty well. We had a lesson with our investigator who is on date for baptism. After the lesson we heard her talking with the a member, and the member was telling her that it won't always be an easy journey working towards baptism. L. said, "I know but I know this church is true so it will be worth it." I love to see the change that the gospel brings into peoples lives! The gospel is truly amazing!

You said I need to write down all the feelings I get from the Holy Ghost to remember them... this week we went out tracking and right as we started I had this feeling to knock on this house that was on the other side of the street but I didn't. We just kept going down the side that we were on. On the way back I walked past that house again and I got the same feeling to knock on it. I can't ignore the spirit twice so I went and knocked on it. Sometimes I'm confused why the spirit prompts us to do things cause this couple in there 50's or 60's answered the door and they just wanted to bash. It was so weird because they would start saying all this anti stuff and I would answer their questions and then they would start to ask like serious questions and really seem interested. Then they would just pull out other anti things. It went on for like 20 minutes of them being against the church then wanting to listen. It was weird. They were interesting. Hopefully something we said might soften their hearts a little. On the bright side I am getting pretty good with scriptures for when people try to disprove the gospel! Not that I try to bash but some people just need to hear the truth!

I don't know why we had a feeling to go to that house. Maybe it was just a test to see if we would listen.  I definitely am grateful for the companionship of the Holy Ghost. This work would not be able to move forward like it does with out it. Missionary work is definitely the Lords work and we need his helping hand in it all! Yesterday we had Stake Conference and that was way good! There was a lot of people who spoke but one of them was T! Who was just baptized a month ago! She did awesome. The conference was on missionary work and temple work and how it goes hand and hand! Both of these are so important and we all have the opportunity to be involved in it and helping to gather the Lords kingdom!

I'm so grateful to be on a mission right now and for how much I have grown and learned from it!

The family should go and do baptisms for the dead. That would be awesome!!
Have you ever done that yet mom?
Love you all!
